What is Biochar?

Carbon Capture.

Biochar comes from the pyrolysis or combustion of biomass. It sequesters carbon and is an amendment to recover arid and contaminated soils, improving their liquid retention capacity, allowing them to remain hydrated.


Biochar can be used as fertilizer and substrate in the same crop, it retains water up to 6 times its weight, creates micro environments to favor the growth of microorganisms, it retains nitrogen, as a filter element it can recover soils contaminated by chemical fertilizers. Mixed with diatomaceous earth, it is an excellent fertilizer with much higher yields than traditional organic fertilizers obtained from compost and biodigesters. Biochar retains carbon, which is why it is considered as a carbon capture agent and its permanence reaches 1000 years.

Fuel Management


Bio oils are raw material to produce liquid fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides and herbicides. They can also be used as green fuel by refining them.

The synthesis gas is used in a closed circuit to self-supply heat the reactor and the residual heat is used to dry the fresh waste.
